Dombra is an ancient musical instrument, a folk instrument of Kazakhs and some Turkic peoples of Central Asia. The Saka nomadic tribes used two-stringed musical instruments that are similar to the Kazakh dombra, more than 2,000 years ago.
Our Dombra are made according to the ancient traditions of the Kazakh craft. Each dombra is a unique masterpiece made according to old traditions and culture of central Asian nomads. Each dombra has its unique print, which has its own sacral meaning. Each part is made exclusively by hand, without using machinery production and tools.
Production process of one dombra can go from two weeks to six months. Basically dombra is made from coniferous trees - pine and larch. The front part of the dombra, is made from Tien-Shan spruce, this is the most acoustic material in Central Asia. Basically, 95% of the musical data and the quality of the instrument depend on this part of the instrument.
Our dombras are made of dry, noble wood that grows on the territory of Kazakhstan in the foothills of the Trans-Ili Alatau.
